Euthanasia for Large Animals
We offer quality of life and euthanasia services for sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, pigs (large and potbelly), cows and poultry. Sometimes it can be difficult to determine if a farm animal is too sick to successfully treat medically. Some things to consider when deciding whether to treat or euthanize an animal that is injured, extremely weak, old, or disabled are:
- Is the animal in severe pain or distress?
- Is the animal likely to recover?
- Does the animal have the ability to obtain feed and water?
Contact us so we can set up a visit to determine together if your animal can potentially be treated or if euthanasia is the best option.
If we decide to move forward with humane euthanasia, then you have a few options for disposal of remains. You can bury them on your property, we can take them with us for cremation (private or non-private) if the animal is generally less than 250lbs, or we can have a cremation company come to you for pickup of larger animals.
Please feel free to contact one of our team members with any additional questions as we know this can be a difficult decision.
